In Heaven We Know Our Own; Or, Solace For The Suffering
Catholic Classics Reprint: Supplemented With Holy Illustrations; Prayers For The Deceased; Patron Saints For Widows, Orphans, Death Of Children; Litany For Deceased Loved Ones; 'Easy' Ways To Assist Departed Loved Ones'; And More...
+ + +
Adorned with words from Holy Scripture, Fathers & Doctors of the Church, this 'Catholic Classic' offers solace for the bereaved "[by] explaining the state of the just in heaven" and demonstrating that happiness in heaven "is augmented by their knowledge of God's friends." The book, which 'proves' that the faithful departed both remember, love & care for those of us still remaining on earth, is a "great balm of comfort" to those who have lost a spouse, child, parent, friend, or other loved one.
+ + +
This 'consoling & comforting Catholic Classics reprint' is based on an English translation of a 19th century work by the eminent writer Fr. François René Blot, S.J. The 'letters of consolation to a Christian (Catholic) widow & bereaved mother' have been beloved by thousands over the decades, and have brought solace to many who have suffered loss.
We have supplemented Fr. Blot's work with...
* Holy images
* Prayers for the departed
* Patron Saint information
* 'Easy' ways to assist departed loved ones
* A few relevant quotations
Our goal in this publication is to provide an edition that is as faithful as possible to the original text of the English translation, and which also contains useful supplemental materials and is offered at a reasonable price so as to get this consoling work into the homes of as many faithful Catholics as possible.
The present volume has been fully re-typeset and compared with two (2) separate digitized sources for increased accuracy. Scripture references have been verified in a traditional Catholic Bible (Douay-Rheims translation).
As explained in the book's Methodology, we have endeavored to remain 'scrupulously faithful' to the original text (although various items, especially with regard to formatting, may differ from the original - e.g. typeface, alignment, pagination, hyphenation, footnotes have been converted to endnotes, etc.). Also, some notations have been added (e.g. regarding discrepancies between original source materials, appropriate Scripture refs., etc.), and the work has been supplemented.
We sincerely hope this publication will be of great assistance and comfort to faithful Catholics.

Limitations & Notes
* This book is designed for faithful Catholics. As it attempts to console, it is not a full theological treatise.
* Scripture refs. refer to traditional versions of the Bible (which may differ from modern Bibles).
* Spelling & abbreviations may appear as in original sources (e.g. Saviour, centre, Aquino, to-day, St. Cath., etc.).
* Wording is traditional and some phrases may not please 'moderns' (e.g. feminists may dislike a reference to a young widow being "weak alike from her age and her sex").
* Text may be based on online digitized materials. Some items may differ from originals.
* Much (but not all) content in this book may be freely available from online sources, however some no-cost digitized materials may contain garbled text, missing pages, hard to read words, etc. Due to the 'valuable supplemental material, useful re-typesetting, careful checking, and improved formatting' we have contributed to the present work, we hope you'll agree that much value has been added to this present publication that makes it well-worth purchasing for personal use, for gift-giving, and for your home library.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
