6/5/26 UPDATE: Although the five (5) above books were submitted to Amazon from April-June – and we have corresponded back and forth with Amazon since before that time – they have (finally) informed us that they are not able to publish Kindle Scribe Colorsoft only titles at present. They said: "Regarding the 5 titles you have already submitted, we would like to assure you that we will be able to process these once our Kindle Colorsoft-specific conversion support is launched. While we are working on enabling this capability, but we are unable to confirm any timeline at this point." We are very sorry for the delay. Please note that these titles are presently available as paperback books (see here).

10/6/26 UPDATE: Despite Amazon's 6/2026 assurance to us concerning publishing our five already submitted Kindle Scribe Colorsoft titles (see above), they now state that they are unwilling to publish the titles. In contradiction to their 6/2026 assurance, they told us in 8/2026 that they "do not have plans to support Write-On books for Kindle Colorsoft" and that they "are not accepting new submissions into the Kindle Scribe Write-On program." We reminded them that our books are not 'new' since they have had them for months now (2 of them since April 2026). We also offered to have the books published as regular Scribe books (which would still work on the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft). In response, they said they've "carefully reviewed" our case, but noted that they are "unable to provide details about internal program decisions, timelines, or future plans" and said they are "unable to make exceptions for previously submitted titles, including publishing them as standard Kindle Scribe Write-On books."

We continued to pursue the matter and requested answers to our direct questions. We went back and forth 'numerous' times. We reminded them of their previous assurance to us. We pointed out recently published Scribe titles (by other publishers) - titles they published AFTER they said they were not publishing new Scribe books. We asked why our books were being treated differently, why our emails were ignored... Some questions we had...

* What is the reason you are not allowing new write-on books?

* Is the Kindle Scribe being discontinued?

* How is it that you were able to publish other publishers' write-on books AFTER you supposedly are not able to publish new write-on books?

* What is the specific reason you have reneged on your assurance to us? Why will you not make an exception for our books that you've had for months even though you have published others' more recent books, including a write-on book you published in 9/2026?

* Why are we being treated differently? Why is it that we are we being discriminated against? Do you have an issue with Catholic books?

* We have a 3rd volume of our tracing book and other books in the pipeline (that are NOT Colorsoft only books). Should we not continue with those?

We noted that we have invested a lot of our time and resources in our good (and perfectly functional!) books that they appear to have relegated to the dustbin without even the courtesy of a reason, and against their previous promise. We asked them to please take the time to answer ALL of our questions. We noted that have wasted a lot of our time and resources on these 5 already submitted books (plus ones in the works) that they don't seem to be willing to publish even though they previously assured us that they would. And we noted that we at least expect answers to our questions and asked, how could that be unreasonable? We also asked if they will be reimbursing us for our costs and our time putting together these five books. We repeatedly asked for answers to our questions. Ultimately, we asked for a supervisor.

They ignored most of our questions, and when they did reply, it was typically with delayed, duplicative, canned responses.

Today we received the following 'final' message from KDP Executive Customer Relations'...

"Hello,

My name is <name withheld> with KDP Executive Customer Relations. Thank you for your continued correspondence.

While we understand this is frustrating, we have provided the information available to us regarding this decision, and we are unable to offer additional specifics. This decision is final.

Regards,

<name withheld>"

In the past, they said they would (supposedly!) let us know if something changes. We do not have a lot of confidence in this assurance though given our past experience with them.

We explored the possibility of selling these titles outside the Amazon ecosystem, but did not find any suitable option. The only 'likely possibility' we found (Etsy) was deemed unsuitable due to their offensive gift card images (e.g. those depicting homosexual 'wedding' cake toppers). We reached out to them about the matter. Perhaps if others do likewise, the situation might change. Similarly if Scribe customers complain to Amazon, perhaps progress can be made.

In any event, we are very sorry for this regrettable situation. At this time, we believe we have no choice but to leave the matter in God's loving hands. We, of course, fully trust in Him.
