To
tell us about what you believe to be an error (or inappropriate
practice, negative trend, etc.) occurring within a parish, read the
following, then complete and submit the form below...
Important:
Read All of the Following Before Submitting Your
Comments.
If
you are encountering a problem at your local Catholic parish,
we encourage you to take it up with the local Church authorities
- both for yourself and for the benefit of other parishioners. God may be
calling you to do so. Remember to do so appropriately, with
respect, and with perseverance.
If you would also like to
inform us of an unfortunate experience or situation (i.e.
suspected error, inappropriate practice, negative trend, etc.)
that has been or is occurring in your parish, you may complete
and submit the form below. This can help keep us "on the
pulse" of possible new errors and negative trends. Of
course, sharing such information with us is not a
substitute for contacting Church officials or taking other
appropriate actions. We highly encourage you to report abuses
and errors to the appropriate Church authorities.
Please
note the following before submitting your comments:
We
have no authority to resolve disputes
We
do not have the resources to resolve disputes
We
are not canon lawyers
We
are not arbitrators
We
have no special standing, influence, or authority in
the Church
Also note that:
We
may be unable to read/review or otherwise consider
the information you provide (regardless of its seriousness)
We
are not likely to take any action on most (or all)
items submitted (regardless of the seriousness of the
matter)
Furthermore, by submitting
any information, you agree that we have full, free, and
unlimited use of all information. Our treatment of any
submission may include (but is not limited to) any or all of the
following: forwarding it to others, reporting it to authorities,
publishing it (either on or off line), researching it, ignoring
it, retaining it, complaining about it, discarding it, etc. It is
possible that you may be contacted for questions or
clarification (if so, do not provide any personal
information). Should we ever take any action, your submission
may be combined with other(s). Should we ever take any action
(which we do not guarantee), we do not guarantee that it will be
in any given time frame, or what it might be or what the outcome
might be, or that you will be notified of it. Further, by
submitting any information, you agree to all our terms (click here
for more information ).
Please
limit your submissions to appropriate matters [i.e. possible
liturgical or sacramental abuses, unfortunate new innovations,
etc., and not instances of unpleasantness of a
particular person, personal sins of a priest or lay person(s), trivial matters,
incidents or alleged instances of sexual misconduct]. DO NOT
SUBMIT ANY ITEM WHATSOEVER WHICH REFERS TO SEXUAL MISCONDUCT
OR OTHER ILLEGAL ACTIVITY. All submissions (inappropriate or
otherwise) may be discarded unread, never read, etc. We DO
NOT accept any responsibility whatsoever for reporting
information relating to abuse, crime, or any other serious
matter to the authorities, regardless of whether or not we were
to become aware of it. YOU RETAIN COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR
REPORTING ABUSES / CRIMES / ETC. TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES.
Further, we reserve the right to ignore posts, discard posts,
assume that all posts we receive are fraudulent / untrue / etc.,
and require no action (even if they may seem to be true and/or
require action, and even if we receive many reports from varying
sources of the same or similar occurrences), etc.
Always post with kindness and
never slander any individual or make unfair, untrue, or
exaggerated accusations. Please submit only one post per issue /
per church / per item, and never more than one submission per
month. DO NOT CONTACT US REGARDING YOUR SUBMISSION OR ASK US
OTHER QUESTIONS (sorry, we cannot provide answers to questions or
pronounce judgment as to whether an abuse has actually
occurred). Please do not let your feelings be hurt because we
did not
respond to your post (even though it may involve a serious
matter or have had other serious consequences). Catholics only.
Respectful submissions only. No schismatic / sedevacantist
submissions.
And,
dear friend, remember that it is imperative that you never give
up your faith or the practice of your faith because of a problem
or difficulty you experience. The only thing that can keep
you from your faith is you - not an insensitive,
offensive, criminal, or
seemingly (or actual) heretical priest - but only you. No one else will
be with you when you meet the Lord in judgment. You will
only be answerable for yourself and what you did or didn't do.
If you give it up, that is like spiritual suicide. No
one can take your faith from you, only you can
freely give it up. No amount of excuses or justification will
change that fact - your faith is an act of your free will and
the graces God gives you. Along with the Eucharist,
your faith is a priceless valuable treasure - don't even consider throwing it away because of
someone else's misdeeds. They will be answerable for
those, not you. You will, however, be answerable for your
response to them. Therefore,
dear friend, "Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong."
(1 Cor. 16:13) Truth and righteousness will ultimately
prevail (even if it takes until the end of the world). And, keep in mind
that the Church is the only means of salvation (click
here ) -
and that Jesus has promised that his Church - the one true, holy
Catholic Church - will forever remain. "And so I say to
you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against
it." (Mt 16:18)
