Calling Abortion By Its True Name

Calling Abortion By Its True Name

Important Notice: The following is not comprehensive. We make no guarantee regarding any item herein. Items herein may be graphic in nature. We condemn abortion-related violence. Do not inflict violence on those who procure, advise, or participate in abortions. The following is not intended as a political discussion or an official stand on political matters. A large part of the reason abortion remains 'legal' is that it (and many things surrounding it) are not called by their true names. For example...

A mother might go have an abortion to "remove a blob of tissue", but what mother would willingly submit to "the direct and painful dismemberment and killing of her unborn child"?

A voter might want a legislator to be "pro-choice", but what voter would want their legislator to advocate "the slaughter of the innocents"?

A woman might enjoy so-called "reproductive freedom", but what woman would enjoy participating in "the 'American Holocaust'"?

In each case, the action being performed is the same. Only the terms used to describe it are different. One can easily see that language is powerful. Those on the 'pro-choice' side purposely use deceptive terminology to keep 'legal' practices that most decent people would abhor if they were only called by their true names. Since the unborn baby can't speak in its own defense, we have to be its voice. We have to begin to use accurate, truthful terminology!

Rather than say...

Consider...

Pro-Choice

Pro-Abortion, Pro-Killing

(Let's be accurate, the only choice they want is abortion)

Abortion Clinic

Death Camp, Abortion Chamber, Death Chamber

Abortion, Interruption of Pregnancy, Induced Termination of Pregnancy, Medical Procedure, Evacuation of the Uterus

Killing of Children, Murder, Evil, Sin, Violent, Barbarous, Slaughter of the Innocents, The 'American Holocaust', Destruction of Human Life, Taking of a Human Life, Slaying of the Innocent, Murder Before Birth

(Note: Click here for information on the actual abortion procedure.)

Pregnant Woman

Mother

Product of Conception (POC), Fetus, Blob of Tissue, Uterine Contents

Child, Baby, Innocent Child, Unborn Child, Victim

("Since when does a 'blob of tissue" have hands, feet, a head, separate blood supply, heart, different gender than mother..."? Click here for information on the unborn baby)

Unwanted Pregnancy

Inconvenient Child

Reproductive Freedom, Right to Choose

Freedom to Kill Children

"Safe & Legal"

Dangerous, Unsafe, Immoral

(Note: Click here for information concerning the risks of abortion.)

Doctor

Abortionist

"Always remember that abortion is the killing of one's own children and that the killing of unborn babies is murder. The pro-abortion side has to distance themselves from these terms. To continue making a living off the killing of children, they have to dehumanize the baby and cloud the issue of what is really happening. They know if they used the accurate and true terms, they would have little support. Remember that it is easier to victimize someone who has been depersonalized."

"For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed." (Our Lord Jesus Christ, Jn. 3:20)

When it comes to abortion, it is not even necessary (or preferable) to use words. Simply look at (or show) fetal development pictures or pictures of aborted children. Such pictures say more than words ever could about the humanity of the child and the barbarity of abortion. The pictures make it impossible to deny the reality of what is occurring:

Abortion Kills Children!

His Holiness Pope John Paul II, 1995:

"Here though we shall concentrate particular attention on another category of attacks, affecting life in its earliest and in its final stages, attacks which present new characteristics with respect to the past and which raise questions of extraordinary seriousness. It is not only that in generalized opinion these attacks tend no longer to be considered as 'crimes'; paradoxically they assume the nature of 'rights', to the point that the State is called upon to give them legal recognition and to make them available through the free services of health-care personnel. Such attacks strike human life at the time of its greatest frailty, when it lacks any means of self-defense. Even more serious is the fact that, most often, those attacks are carried out in the very heart of and with the complicity of the family - the family which by its nature is called to be the 'sanctuary of life'.... [T]he value of life can today undergo a kind of 'eclipse', even though conscience does not cease to point to it as a sacred and inviolable value, as is evident in the tendency to disguise certain crimes against life in its early or final stages by using innocuous medical terms which distract attention from the fact that what is involved is the right to life of an actual human person."

"But no word has the power to change the reality of things: procured abortion is the deliberate and direct killing, by whatever means it is carried out, of a human being in the initial phase of his or her existence, extending from conception to birth." (Pope John Paul II)
